How to get there
From Agadir, head towards Aourir on the N1, then turn right towards Imouzzer Ida Outanane. The road is fully tarmacked but winding — allow 1 to 1.5 hours to cover 50 km. The drive is pleasant but requires attention on the bends.
Paradise Valley
Paradise Valley owes its name to its natural freshwater pools of a striking turquoise, nestled between limestone cliffs and palm trees. In summer, Moroccan families come to swim here. You can dive from the rocks, relax on the banks, or cross the suspension bridges that span the river.
The water is cold even in midsummer — a delightful temperature shock after the heat of the road.
Where to have lunch
Several restaurants are set up right at the water's edge. Café de la Palmeraie is the most famous. A chicken tagine with olives or fish tagine costs around 70 MAD per person. Order when you arrive as cooking takes a long time (40 minutes) — that is a good sign.
The Imouzzer Ida Outanane waterfall
Continue along the road to the village of Imouzzer. The waterfall is seasonal (most active from February to April), but the setting is always beautiful, even when dry. The village is surrounded by orange groves and orchards. In February-March, the almond trees in blossom create an exceptional spectacle.
The honey road
The region is renowned for its argan and thyme honey. Beekeeping cooperatives offer tastings and direct sales along the road. Amlou (almond, argan and honey paste) is the essential local product to take home.
Which vehicle?
A standard car (Logan, Sandero) is sufficient for the main road. Watch out for tight bends. If you want to explore the secondary tracks towards lesser-known waterfalls, a Duster or SUV will be more comfortable.
