Car choice
No need for 4x4 on main roads (paved). But SUV recommended for comfort and tracks to kasbahs.
Best season
October to April. Avoid July-August (50°C during the day). Cool winter nights, bring warm clothes.

Sleeping facing the ksar is magical. Several riads and kasbah hotels. Booking recommended in high season.
Fuel & distances
Gas stations rare between villages. Fill up at every opportunity. Bring water and a snack for long drives.
Desert excursion
From Ouarzazate, possibility to go to Merzouga (8h drive, Erg Chebbi dunes) or M'Hamid (6h, Erg Chigaga). Unforgettable bivouac.
